- 12. Mabel Grewcock – Mabel Frearson (born 1907) married Walter Grewcock (born 1900) in 1937. In 1939 Walter worked in a brickyard and they lived with Mabel’s parents in Gledhills, Hough Hill.

- 16. Bernard Hodges – Bernard was incapacitated coal miner who for many years the parish clerk of Swannington Parish Council. Bernard and his wife Daisy were both born in 1904 and lived in School House, Main Street.

- 19. Eric Jarvis – Eric (born 1914) was a railway signalman who after WWII organised several village railway outings to London and elsewhere. He officiated at the last service at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in 1998.

- 11. Kath Pickering – Kath was born in the Tanyard in 1920 and later lived at Red Hill Farm when her brother worked there. Kath married Sid James who served in the navy during WWII. Kath used to be the Sunday School Teacher at the Wesleyan Methodist in Main Street.
